What should you look for in a bath lift? Read on for our impartial advice.

/ New bath lifts have been designed with a reclining back rest to ensure you get the most from your bathing experience. This is a feature you should expect your bath lifter to have, if not it might be out of date.

/ Most bath lifts can carry weights up to around 19 to 22 stone. There are heavy duty bath lifts on the market please free phone 0800 028 34 99 for further information.

/ Modern bath lifts now come designed with the users' capabilities in mind. The two or three piece unit is a standard of the modern bath lift. With the bath lift breaking down into several pieces the user can now manage to clean the bath with greater ease.

/ All modern bath lifts come with waterproof, floatable, handsets, and self releasing suction cups.

/ Most bath lifts can be used without their covers but this may result in loss of comfort and stability as they provide a slip resistant surface. New covers will need to be replaced over time, so make sure when you purchase your bath lift they can provide this service for you. If they can't supply this service then they’re most likely not a registered supplier.

/ Weight is a very important factor to consider when purchasing a bath lift. If more than 2Kgs is too heavy then you should look for an inflatable or even a fixed belt bathlifter depending on the users balance.

/ Most modern bathlifts come with the battery built into the handset. This allows the user to recharge the bath lift easily with little fuss. It also makes a considerable difference in the weight.
